CONTESSA'S "GREEN" STOVETOP RECIPE CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST.
 
  1. ELIGIBILITY: "Contessa's "Green" Stovetop Recipe Contest" ("Contest") is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia ("DC"), 18 years or older (19 years of age or older for residents of NE and AL) as of the date of entry. Employees and directors of Contessa Premium Foods ("Sponsor"), food professionals, chefs, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, production agencies, and their respective IRS dependents, immediate family members and/or those individuals residing in the same household, are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void outside of the 50 United States and DC, and where prohibited or restricted by law. Participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which shall be final in all respects.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: The Contest begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time ("PST") on 2/2/2008 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. PST on 5/1/2008 ("Contest Period"). There are two ways to enter the Contest, (1) Online: visit http://www.contessa.com ("Web site, Promotions Section") during the Contest Period and follow the on-screen entry instructions by providing your complete name, home address, daytime and evening phone numbers, email address, birthday, and your original recipe and clicking "Submit," or (2) Mail-in: on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper, type or clearly print your complete name, home address, daytime and evening phone numbers, email address, birthday, and your original recipe, and mail in a first-class stamped envelope to: "Contessa's "Green" Stovetop Recipe Contest", #0208 P.O. Box 1950, San Pedro, CA 90733, to be received by 5/7/2008. All recipes must be original, not previously published or entered into any other Contest, and must include a Contessa Premium Foods product. Online entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. PST on 5/1/2008. Mail-in entries must be received by 5/7/2008. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified. All entries, including original recipes, are the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. By submitting a recipe, each entrant warrants that the recipe is an original recipe created by the entrant and that entrant is not a professional chef or other certified food professional. By submitting a recipe, each entrant grants Sponsor the perpetual, unlimited and irrevocable right to post, publish and/or otherwise use the submitted recipe in any media now known or hereafter developed.
  3. JUDGING CRITERIA: One (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected by a panel of qualified judges, whose decisions are final and binding on all matters related to this Contest, within 60 days of the end date of the Contest Period, from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Judging for which entrant with the best recipe will be based on the following judging criteria: (a) flavor; (b) presentation; and (c) originality. The entrant with the highest score will be deemed the Grand Prize winner. In the event of a tie, the entrant with the highest score in the taste/flavor criteria from among the tying entrants will be deemed the Grand Prize winner. Potential Grand Prize winner will be notified by telephone or mail within approximately one (1) week following winner selection. Potential Grand Prize winner may be required to complete a release of liability and, if legally permissible, publicity release within 5 days of attempted delivery of the same. Noncompliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the prize will be awarded to the person with the next highest score based on the judging criteria set forth above. No substitution, assignment or transfer of prize permitted by winner, but Sponsor reserves right to substitute prize with prize of equal or greater value, at Sponsor's sole discretion.
  4. PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE ("ARV"): One (1) Grand Prize - $250.00, awarded in the form of Sponsor-specified Contessa Premium Foods products and merchandise. ARV: $250.00. Prize substitutions, transfers or cash equivalent are not allowed, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value if the featured prize or any part thereof becomes unavailable. Prize consists of only those items listed as part of the prize. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner.
  5. LIABILITY LIMITATIONS: Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, unintelligible, returned, or undelivered entries, or for lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, or availability or accessibility, or miscommunications, or failed computer, telephone, satellite or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network, or incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information, or failure to capture any such information. ANY ATTMEPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATLY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or web site, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified. Sponsor and their respective directors, officers, shareholders, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and promotional and advertising agencies are not responsible for injury or damage to participants or to any other persons' computer related to or resulting from the participation in this Contest, or downloading materials from or use of the website. Should any portion of Contest be, in Sponsor's sole opinion, compromised by virus, technical failures, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of Sponsor, corrupts or impairs administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and select winner from eligible entries received prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate, at Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor and their respective directors, officers, shareholders, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and promotional and advertising agencies are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information concerning this Contest, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, and further assume no responsibility for any error, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, or transmission, communications line failure, technical failure, theft or destruction, or unauthorized use of website. In the event of a dispute regarding any entry, the entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry (i.e., the person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address). All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, their respective advertising and promotion agencies and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, or participation in the Contest, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Contest-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation invasion of privacy, merchandise delivery and/or copyright infringement. Winner, by accepting the prize, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for Sponsor (and agrees to confirm such agreement in writing upon Sponsor's request) to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, and prize information, for purposes of advertising, trade and promotion without further compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered world wide and on the World Wide Web, without notice or review or approval.
