THE RECIPE

  1. The major ingredient in your recipe must be prepared on a grill (gas, electric, charcoal, pellet or wood-fired).
  2. Recipe must be original and not previously published. Contest finalists will be required to certify that the entry is original. Recipe must not have been submitted to another current contest, promotional event or for publication elsewhere.
  3. Recipe must include the grill techniques and temperatures and must serve a minimum of four persons.
  4. The Grill Master prefers recipes in standard recipe format: list ingredients first, in order of use and with amount/quantity, followed by preparation instructions. Ingredient measurements must be in exact, standard U.S. measurements.

JUDGING

  1. Recipes will be judged on taste, originality, ease of preparation and suitability for grilling on a cabin deck. Extra points may be awarded for humor.
  2. Winning recipes will be selected by an independent judging committee of hungry cabin owners. Judges' decisions are final.
  3. Judges will disqualify recipes which, to their knowledge, are previously published recipes or previous national recipe winners.
  4. Judges will select three winners: a third, second and grand prize winner.
  5. Winners will be selected by the end of March 2008 and notified by telephone. Letter of verification will follow within 10 days. Winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability.
  6. For a list of winners see the July/August 2008 issue of Cabin Life magazine.

PRIZES

  1. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash. No substitution of prizes is allowed. Cabin Life/Fladmark Publishing reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value or provide cash equivalent.
  2. Applicable federal, state and local taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
