Anyone except professional chefs and Friske employees and their families are invited to participate in our Annual Cherry Recipe Contest. The two categories for 2009 will be Pies and Breakfasts. All entries must be received by February 20, 2009. Entries should be mailed to

or simply fill in the registration form below and submit. Six finalists will be named in each category and final judging will take place, Saturday, February 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Friske’s Farm Market; 10 miles south of Charlevoix on U.S. 31 at Atwood.
Each recipe must be typed or printed in black on a standard 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper. List all ingredients in order of use. Give step-by-step instructions. Include size of pan or utensils required, cooking temperatures and times, and number of servings or yield. Include any interesting background information or story about your recipe(s).
Contestants may submit recipes in each category, but only one entry per person may qualify as a finalist. Six finalists will be selected from each category and contacted by Friske’s to confirm their participation as a finalist.
Each finalist must personally bring his/her finished product, prepared exactly from the recipe submitted, to Friske’s Farm Market, Saturday, February 28 between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. Contestants must be on hand at time of judging. Winners will be announced by 12:30 p.m. Dishes will be judged on visual appeal, taste, ease of preparation, best use of cherries and originality/creativity.
