CHANNEL YOUR INNER CHEF

DEADLINE

February 20, 2018

DESCRIPTION

Submit a video no longer than 5 minutes, in which you demonstrate the preparation of an original, unpublished dish that includes at least a protein and a vegetable. Judging will also consider your cooking technique, presentation, form and showmanship.
Five finalists will participate in a live cooking competition on March 20, 2018, in Chicago, IL. Finalists must prepare a new dish using only what is provided, including at least one mandatory ingredient of choice from the O'Hare Urban Garden.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older (19+ in AL and NE). Must be able to attend the final event in Chicago, IL on March 20, 2018.

PRIZES

5 Phase One Prizes (Finalists): A trip to Chicago for the live cooking competition on March 20, 2018. The trip will include roundtrip air transportation, and round trip ground transportation for finalist between airport and hotel in Chicago (or a $250 travel stipend for any finalist that resides within 150 miles of Chicago); and hotel accommodations to any finalist whose city or state of residence requires the finalist to stay in Chicago overnight (ARV $1,000).
Grand Prize: The winner will have the opportunity for his or her dish to appear on the menu at an HMSHost restaurant operating at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Winner also will receive 2 tickets to the 2018 James Beard Foundation Awards on May 7, 2018 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois; and transportation costs needed for winner and 1 guest to attend (airfare to Chicago & ground transport from airport if winner resides over 150 miles from Chicago, OR a $250 travel stipend if winner resides within 150 miles of Chicago; and hotel accommodations if travel distance requires the winner to stay in Chicago overnight.
Sponsor will also provide winner a single cash payment of $2,500 in the form of a check, which is intended to assist the winner with any federal, state, or other tax obligations related to the Grand Prize. In addition, the winner will receive two roundtrip coach class airline tickets for a flight within the continental U.S. — or the Sponsor may provide an airline gift card of $1,000 value in lieu of the airline tickets (Total ARV $7,800).

HUHOT: HOW WILL YOU CONQUER BLAND?

How Will You Conquer Bland? Use the recipe creation tool on the contest website to develop and enter your own personal HuHot stir-fry recipe. You must use 4 to 7 ladles of sauce in addition to your choice of proteins, vegetables, and/or noodles and rice. Include any special instructions for preparing the recipe, a beverage pairing, and your favorite HuHot location.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC. If you are under 18 years old, you must have consent from a parent/guardian in order to be eligible to enter.

PRIZES

64 Local Store Winner Prizes: $25 HuHot reward added to the winner’s HuHot Rewards account. If the winner doesn’t have a HuHot Rewards account, a $25 electronic comp card will be emailed to the winner.

ASIAN INSPIRATIONS "COOK, SNAP, WIN!" – 7

DESCRIPTION

This contest is divided into 8 weekly periods, two weeks for each of four themes. There is a prize each week based on votes; non-winning entries do not carry over to subsequent weeks' voting. Prizes by theme and the grand prizes will be awarded by judges. For each entry, purchase two or more eligible Oriental Merchant products on a single receipt. Retain the receipt and product barcodes—you will need them if you win! You must have a separate receipt for each entry you submit.
Use at least one of the products to prepare a creative, original Asian meal or dish fitting the theme of the entry period. This week's theme is "One Bowl Wonder", complete meals that can be made in one bowl, pan, or  bowl. Submit the recipe along with a photo showcasing the dish, attractively plated.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of Australia who are age 18 or older.

Gluten-free eating is popular these days, but many people just don't know how to handle the challenge of cooking — and especially baking — for this diet. Create and enter a Step-by-Step, Photo, or Video Instructable demostrating the preparation of a gloriously gluten-free dish.

STATEN ISLAND ADVANCE 2018 COOKBOOK CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

The format for this annual contest has changed again this year. This year there are four categories: Appetizers; Entrées; Desserts; and Nostalgia (for this category, include memories behind a dish, and perhaps the image of the originating cook). Submit all recipes with a photo of the finished dish. 
Six food recipe finalists and and one drink recipe finalist from each category will be asked to bring their prepared recipe to the annual taste-off. The final judging event will be held at The Hilton Garden Inn on April 8, 2018.

Submit your original recipe inspired by your favorite local/state ingredients or dishes. You must use at least 2 whole Eggland's Best Eggs. Include a short description explaining how a local ingredient or dish from your home state/jurisdiction/territory inspired the recipe, and why Eggland's Best Eggs are the only eggs good enough for your recipe.
There are four categories: Breakfast/Brunch; Main Course; Appetizer; and Dessert.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, PR, Guam, and DC who are age 18 or older and have reached the age of majority. Prize winners from any contest sponsored by Eggland’s Best, LLC. within the last 2 years are ineligible to enter or win in this Contest. Semi-finalists from the 2016 Eggland’s Best “Your Best Recipe” Contest may enter if they do not submit the same recipe that was deemed a semi-finalist entry.

THE OHIO EGGFEST – COOKING COMPETITION

DEADLINE

May 8, 2018

DESCRIPTION

The Eggfest isn't about cooking eggs — it's about cooking on Big Green Eggs! Get a team together and plan a creative dish you would like to cook over charcoal and serve to the judges (it could even be eggs, if you wanted)! You will also need to provide at least 600 one-half to one ounce samples for attendees, who will vote for a People's Choice winner. You must supply the ingredients; the festival will provide Big Green Eggs and charcoal.
If you want a real adventure, sign up for the Mystery Meat Challenge, and on the day of the competition you will be supplied with the mystery meat (only) and must transform it into something tasty.
The deadline is for registering your team; The Ohio Eggfest will be held on May 12, 2018 in Tremont Center, in Upper Arlington, Ohio. You can also sign up to purchase your BGE at a discount.

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to all, but you must be able to attend and prepare the specified amount of food at your own expense. It's expected that you will be competing with a team.

PRIZES

"The Prestigious" Award (judged): $1,000 Gift Card to Specialty Gas House.
