Celtic Sea Salt® is celebrating their 40th anniversary by compiling a cookbook! You are invited to submit a recipe featuring one of their gourmet salts, along with a photo of the dish and a short description.

ELIGIBILITY

Open worldwide to all. If you are under the age of majority, please read the rules with your parent/guardian and obtain their permission to enter.

PRIZES

25 to 30 Finalist Prizes: Winner's recipe will be featured in a cookbook and a year long monthly shipment of one pound of Celtic Sea Salt® Gourmet Kosher™ will be automatically shipped to the winner. Shipping and handling charges will be paid by Celtic Sea Salt®.

2016 GREAT GILROY GARLIC FESTIVAL RECIPE CONTEST AND COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

May 1, 2016

DESCRIPTION

Enter a recipe that specifies the use of at least 6 cloves of fresh garlic, or the equivalent packaged form (three teaspoons minced or chopped). Keep the title of your recipe under 10 words, and include a photo with the entry. This is a contest where elaborate, multi-part dishes — and even a side dish — seem to be welcomed, as long as you can meet the time limits! This year there is a limit of 2 entries per person.
If you are one of the 8 Finalists chosen to participate in the Cook-off on July 30, 2016, you will be expected to prepare seven separate plates, all within a maximum of two hours. Five plates will be for the judges, one plate for the emcees, and one plate will be used for presentation to the judges and for media purposes.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the United States and Canada who are age 21 or older. Professional chefs, cooks, food stylists and other food specialists. and those who have received payment for services related to food (including television appearances) may not enter. Previous Gilroy Garlic Festival Cook-Off contest winners (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) are ineligible to enter for three full years (e.g. the winners of the 2012 Cook-Off are the most recent winners eligible to enter in 2016).

PRIZES

First Prize: $5,000.
Second Prize: $2,500.
Third Prize: $1,000.
5 Finalist Prizes (remaining finalists): $100.
Finalist Lodging & Travel Reimbursement: Finalists traveling over 100 miles will be provided with hotel accommodations, one room for two nights in Gilroy. Finalists must make their own travel arrangements. If warranted one coach class ticket for air travel and/or a rental car for a maximum of two days, not to exceed $55 per day will be reimbursed. Maximum reimbursement per contestant shall not exceed $600.

BACONFEST AMATEUR COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

DESCRIPTION

Love to cook with bacon? Able to project your pizzazz-filled personality on stage and want to be a television Chef Superstar? Submit a video in which you prepare a bacon recipe with a festival flare. The recipe does not have to be original, but it should be creative. You may work in a team with one other person. Let your personality shine! You must also answer questions on the entry form and upload a headshot of you (and your partner, if you have one).
Eight finalists will be required to create a dish using bacon and ingredients from a Mystery Basket in an on-stage cooking contest June 18, 2016 in Lathrop, CA. There will be three rounds to the elimination-style competition.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to amateur cooks. No residency or age restrictions are listed.

PRIZES

8 Finalist Prizes: An invitation to a VIP event, at Baconfest June 18th -19th with guest emcee, Guy Fieri, host of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Travel expenses are the sole responsibility of contestants.

WORLD NOMADS 2016 PASSPORT & PLATE SPAIN

DESCRIPTION

Submit a travel recipe — one you picked up on a trip or from a friend from another country— and the story behind it, as well as an essay on why you should be chosen to participate in and blog about a culinary adventure in Spain. Make your recipe one that transports travellers to a new place, simply by making it at home.
You must be available to travel to Spain for 1 week between May 27- June 30, 2016. Winners will be expected to keep a daily travel diary and upload diary entries (no less than 200 words per daily entry, plus photos) to the World Nomads website, via an online travel journal (no later than 4 weeks after returning from the trip), as well as produce three recipe-based articles from the food adventures through Spain to be published on World Nomads.

ELIGIBILITY

Open worldwide who are age 18 or older. You must be proficient in English.

PRIZES

DESCRIPTION

Submit a yeast bread recipe that uses King Arthur Flour (any variety, including Gluten Free) and Red Star®Yeast. You must also submit two photos, one of the bread (with several slices cut) and one of the required products that you used, and the story of your recipe. Be very precise with your measurments as reproducibility is a judging consideration. The recipe must make at least two loaves of bread, not rolls, and must specify hand-kneading. Use of a bread machine is not permitted, but you may call for using a stand or hand mixer to mix ingredients.

This contest is divided into three entry periods. Create and photograph a unique dish fitting the theme for this contest entry period, and using all four of the mystery basket ingredients for the period. Submit your photo and a 200 word (or less) description of the dish and its preparation.
For the second entry period the theme is Mexican and the required ingredients are Sargento® 4 Cheese Mexican Blend; corn tortillas; Tomatillos or store-bought salsa verde; and Chicken thighs.

2016 LEGENDARY LENTIL COOK-OFF

DESCRIPTION

Submit your unique recipes containing at least ½ cup raw USA lentils, 1 cup cooked USA lentils, and/or 1 cup lentil flour along with a corresponding photo of the dish. You must be able to complete cooking of the recipe in 2 hours. Do not use more than 15 ingredients, not including salt, pepper or an oiled pan in the count.
This year is the 28th Annual National Lentil Festival. Five finalists will be invited to come to Pullman, WA to compete and enjoy the Festival August 19-20, 2016.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be age 21 or older. No residency restrictions given.

5 Finalist Prizes: Official National Lentil Festival aprons; honored guest status at the Lentil Festival; $50 for purchasing ingredients for the cookoff; and hotel accomodations for 2 nights and airfare reimbursement (within continental US only), if needed. Create and enter a burger recipe, expressed in 600 words or less. A "burger" is defined as a grilled patty formed of ground meat or other ground foods, and served on a bread product or alternative wrappings such as lettuce. It may include condiments and toppings, all in or on the bread product/alternative wrapping. No side dishes or garnishes are allowed. Size your recipe to make 6 burgers, or either 12 or 18 sliders. KING ARTHUR FLOUR CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

This is a baking contest open to all who want to bring an entry to Jay, VT between 8-10am, August 13. Preregistration is optional and you do not submit the recipe until the day of judging.
Bring 2 separately packaged indentical items, one for judging and one for sale at the associated fundraiser. Include a copy of your recipe with the proof of purchase stapled to it. Entries should be made from scratch using King Arthur Flour or made with a King Arthur Flour Mix. 10 extra points will be given if the item is homemade.
There are two divisions, each with a separate theme.
 • The Adult theme is "Best Coffee Cake," so bring 2 coffee cakes.
 • The Youth (15 and under) theme is "Best Drop Cookie." Each of the two containers must have 12 cookies.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all who wish to personally bring an entry for judging.

All winners receive a ribbon with their prize.
