DESCRIPTION

Do you have a signature dish that everyone raves over? The Great American Amateur Kitchen is a new show that will spotlight cooks from across the nation, taping each amateur chef preparing their famous dish in their own kitchen. Nominate yourself or a friend to be featured by submitting a recipe, accompanied by a story about the joy it brings to others. The goal of the broadcast is to share the love and warmth of your kitchen with others — and to have a fun time doing so!

ELIGIBILITY

Open to amateur cooks of all ages who are residents of the 50 United States and DC.

PRIZES

Up to 39 Prizes each season (3/episode): Fame! You will become an instant reality TV star and Facebook celebrity. Host Simon Stanley will bring the ingredients and the production crew to your home and tape you making your special recipe in your kitchen, then share it with the world.
Most recipes that are not featured on the broadcast will be featured in the cookbooks the sponsor will be publishing. An introduction to each recipe will be added by the sponsor, along with a suggested wine pairing where appropriate.

Create and submit a recipe using chicken and 3 cups cooked wild and brown rice blend (or 2 cups brown rice, 1 cup wild rice). Use no more than 6 additional ingredients. You do not have to count the chicken and rice, or any butter, margarine, cooking oil, water, salt and ground black pepper used. Total time must be 30 minutes or less. Photos are optional.

Coffee lovers think everything tastes better with coffee! Prove your creativity by submitting an original recipe containing coffee, at least 1 tablespoon of instant coffee, powdered coffee or coffee granules OR 1/2 cup of brewed coffee/expresson. Explain how the coffee enhances your recipe (in 50 words max). Photos are optional. There are four categories: Appetizer, Entrée, Dessert or Beverage.

This contest includes 47 weekly contests, each with its own theme and prizes, a Readers' Choice and an Editors' Choice. The weekly winners compete for the Grand Prize in each division after all entry periods are complete.

ATHENS "GET SOCIAL WITH MINI FILLO SHELLS" RECIPE CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

Get social with Athens Mini Fillo Shells in two ways: by creating delicious entertaining recipes to party with family and friends, and by sharing your creations with your social networks online after entering them in this contest! Recipes must be prepped in 15 minutes or less (chilling or baking not included) and use no more than the number of ingredients allowed.  Bonus points may be earned by including photos, video, or sharing your entry socially.
This contest is the 11th of 12 monthly competitions, each with a separate monthly theme and prizes, but also with overall winners at the end of the contest year. The theme for this month is "World Cuisine Recipes," and the recipe should have 5 ingredients or less.
