DESCRIPTION

Select at least 4 but no more than 10 ingredients from the contest Pinterest board, and create a recipe with your minor (17 or younger) child(ren). The first 3 ingredients must be Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies®, margarine/butter, and marshmallows; the remaining 1-7 ingredients are your choice. You may not use ingredients that are not on the approved list. Recipe must take no more than 45 minutes to prepare. Pin your selected ingredients from the contest board to a Pinterest board of your own, with the recipe and a photo of the prepared recipe, perhaps including your child(ren) making it. Submit the board to the sponsor.
There will be 8 entry periods in this contest, and non-winning entries will roll over to subsequent periods.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older. Must be the parent or legal guardian of one or more minor children.

To enter, post a photo of your original cookies along with the ingredient list — does not say recipe — on either of the sponsors' Facebook page posts about the contest. Don't post it to their walls as that violates Facebook regulations and that type of entry would have to be deleted!) After posting to the contest post, you may also post it on your own Facebook page with the hashtag #creativecookiecontest.
Bloggers may post their entry on their own blog, but it must be a new recipe and post; you must also link back to the sponsors' blogs.

2015 NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF BREADS™

DEADLINE

DESCRIPTION

Enter your original bread recipes where at least fifty percent of the total flour used in the recipe is King Arthur unbleached wheat flour (All-Purpose Flour, Bread Flour, Premium Whole Wheat Flour, White Whole Wheat Flour, Self-Rising or Organic Flours); you must be specific in your recipe as to which one is to be used. Recipes submitted by adults must also specify a particular Red Star yeast (any variety, i.e. Active Dry, Bread Machine, Quick Rise, or Cake (Fresh) Yeast) as a leavening agent in the Yeast Bread recipe. If you are not specific in naming the qualifying ingredient(s), your recipe will not be considered. Bread machines may be used for some or all of the preparation process. The recipe must yield a minimum of two loaves or one dozen rolls.
Include a short history of the recipe (source, modifications, etc.) and a photo with your entry.
Adult categories are Ethnic Breads; Rolls; Time-Saving and Simple Breads; and Whole Grain Breads. Youth categories are Yeast Breads and Quick Breads.
Eight finalists from the Adult division will participate in a live competition, during which they must prepare their recipes in eight hours or less. Dough requiring overnight refrigeration may be made the night before.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are amateur youth bakers 12 to 17 years of age, or amateur adult bakers 18 years of age or older as of January 1, 2015. For this contest, amateur is defined as "does not make the major portion of their income by baking."

PRIZES

YOUTH AWARDS
• Grand Prize: $300 scholarship.
• 2 Runner-up Prizes: $100 scholarship.
• Best Recipe Using Cranberries Prize: $100 scholarship.
• Whole Grain Bonus Cash: Any recipe using at least 50% whole wheat flour that becomes one of the 4 above winners will receive an additional $100 cash.
• Soy Special Award: 1 Youth recipe, using at least 25% soy flour and additional soy ingredients that is judged as a quality entry will receive $100 cash.
ADULT AWARDS

Also, the finalists will be invited on a Wheat Harvest Tour in the Heartland, including visiting a working Kansas wheat farm, flour mill and grain elevator, on Friday, June 12, 2015.
• Whole Grain Bonus Cash: Any recipe using at least 50% whole wheat flour that becomes one of the 8 Adult finalists will receive an additional $200 cash.
• Grand Prize: $2,000 cash plus a trip to attend a baking class of their choice at the King Arthur Flour Baking Education Center in Norwich, VT. Trip includes class tuition (maximum $500), hotel, and airfare to and from Vermont (Travel not to exceed $1,500 and total prize package not to exceed $4,000). Winner will also receive 120 envelopes of Red Star Yeast.
• 3 Special Awards (depending on entries received): $500 cash. These winners do not need to be one of the 3 finalists.
