SINFUL FOOD RECIPE CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

Beginning May 15, submit an original recipe for a main dish or main dish salad. You must use at least 2 tablespoons of any flavor of Sinful Food Olive Oil, and no more than 8 additional ingredients. Include a color photo of the dish with your entry (you do not have to show the Sinful Food product in the photo).

ELIGIBILITY

Open to amateur cooks who are age 18 or older.

PRIZES

Grand Prize: 6 bottle collection of Sinful Food Olive Oil (flavors consisting of Italian Blend, Jalapeño, Rosemary, Garlic, Basil and Wild Sage), 1 Signature Seasoning Blend and a spot representing Sinful Food at THE WORLD FOOD CHAMPIONSHIPS (Chicken category) along with the $300 entry fee paid for by Sinful Food. All other WFC expenses are the responsibility of the competitor. 2017 RICE EXPO RECIPE CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

Submit your best recipe featuring rice. Along with ingredients and step-by-step directions, be sure to include the number of servings and the cost per serving. Ten semi-finalists will be invited to bring their dish to the Rice Expo August 4, 2017 for further judging.

Open only to residents of Arkansas. The prior year's winner may not enter this year's contest.

2017 AMATEUR MUSHROOM COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

June 16, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Submit a  recipe that contains as the dominant ingredient any variety or combination of varieties of fresh mushrooms cultivated in Kennett Square, such as button, crimini, portabella, oyster, royal trumpet, maitake, and/or shiitake. The recipe must also feature chicken. Total preparation time may not exceed 1 hour. There is a limit of 12 ingredients total, and salt, pepper and water must be included in the count. Your entry must include a photo of the dish.
Six finalists will be chose to compete in a cook-off on September 9, 2017. Finalists are responsible for their own transportation to Kennett Square, PA, and for obtaining all ingredients except mushrooms. Ovens are not provided at the cookoff, but a double burner heating unit will be provided each finalist.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older.

PRIZES

First Prize: $500.
Second Prize: $300.
Third Prize: $200.
3 Runner-Up Prize: $100.
2 WFC Qualifier Prizes: 2 finalists will become qualified to participate in the 2017 World Food Championships, competing in the Recipe (Chicken) Category. The qualifiers will be responsible for their own travel, registration fees, and expenses to the World Food Championships.

HORMEL® CHILI FIREHOUSE CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

Submit your original chili recipe, a background story on the chili, and an optional photo if you wish. Recipes do not need to include Hormel® chili. There is a limit of 1500 characters each for the recipe and story portions of the entry.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older. Must be an active firefighter working at a functioning station.

PRIZES

3 Finalist Prizes: Six 108 oz. cans of Hormel® Chili per month for 12 months and a trip for 2 to New York, NY to attend and participate in the chili Cook-Off. Trip includes airfare and lodging.
Grand Prize: Winner receives a Finalist prize and winner’s fire station will be issued a $10,000 check (ARV $13,000)

2017 LEGENDARY LENTIL COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

June 19, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Submit your unique recipes containing at least ½ cup raw USA lentils, 1 cup cooked USA lentils, and/or 1 cup lentil flour along with a corresponding photo of the dish. You must be able to complete cooking of the recipe in 2 hours. Do not use more than 15 ingredients, not including salt, pepper or an oiled pan in the count.
This year is the 29th Annual National Lentil Festival. Five finalists will be invited to come to Pullman, WA to compete in a cook-off and enjoy the Festival August 18-19, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be age 21 or older. No residency restrictions are stated.

PRIZES

 Finalist Prizes: Official National Lentil Festival aprons; honored guest status at the Lentil Festival, including the Lentil Pancake Breakfast; $50 for purchasing ingredients for the cook-off; and hotel accommodations for 2 nights and airfare reimbursement (within continental US only), if needed. Finalists must arrange their own travel arrangements.

Request a sample of Apricot Power's SuperFood Mix, telling them your idea for using it. Then create and submit a recipe in one of these three categories: Blended Drinks, Baked Goods, and Most Creative Recipe. If you post the recipe with a photo or video to the sponsor's Facebook page and follow them on social media, you will be entered into a bonus drawing. Ten finalists will be asked to submit a video of themselves preparing the recipe during the judging process.

SUTTER HOME BUILD A BETTER BURGER® RECIPE CONTEST

DEADLINE

July 31, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Create and enter a burger recipe, expressed in 600 words or less. A "burger" is defined as a grilled patty formed of ground meat or other ground foods, and served on a bread product or alternative wrappings such as lettuce. It may include condiments and toppings, all in or on the bread product/alternative wrapping. No side dishes or garnishes are allowed. Size your recipe to make 6 burgers, or either 12 or 18 sliders. Recipes must be able to be completely prepared in 60 minutes or less.
You must choose one of the sponsor's wines as a pairing for your burger. Cooking tips and photos are optional. Previous non-winning entries to this contest may be updated and resubmitted.
Entries will be divided into 5 regions. Four semi-finalists per region will participate in a regional cook-off. The winner in each region will participate in the final cook-off.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 21 or older. Previous finalists and winners are not eligible to participate.
Any person who holds directly (or is employed by a holder of) an alcohol beverage license or permit issued by a federal, state, county or local agency, and all family members of such person, are not eligible to enter.

PRIZES

20 Semi-Finalist Prizes (4/region): 2 professional baseball game tickets in Regional Semi-Finalist Cook-Off city and one $200 pre-paid debit card for required burger ingredients. Semi-Finalists living within 300 miles of the Cook-Off city will receive a $200 pre-paid debit card for transportation costs; those living more than 300 miles from the Cook-Off city will receive airfare for 2 to the Cook-Off city and 1 night hotel accommodations (ARV $1,000).
5 National Finalist Prizes (1/region): Trip October 4-6, 2017 for finalist and guest to attend the Finalist Cook-off. 38th NATIONAL OYSTER COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

DESCRIPTION

Submit your recipes that feature fresh oysters. Recipe must use a minimum of 1 pint of oysters or 1 dozen fresh oysters in the shell, and prep and cooking time should total no more than 1 hour. 3 finalists per category will participate in a cook-off October 21, 2017 in Leonardtown, MD.
There are 3 categories:
   • Hors d'oeuvres
   • Soups & Stews
   • Main Dishes.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all, but you must provide your own transportation to the cook-off if you are a finalist.

PRIZES

2017 RECIPE CATTLE CALL CONTEST – 2

DESCRIPTION

Submit a photo of your original recipe that uses Maple Hill Creamery dairy products. Any type of recipe is eligible. If submitting via one of the social media options, include the hashtag #RecipeCattleCall and tag Maple Hill Creamery in your photo.
This contest is one of a series of ongoing quarterly contests, and non-winning entries carry over to subsequent months for up to one year. Three finalists per quarter will be asked to submit the full recipe for their entry for further judging.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older.

PRIZES

Monthly Prize: A package of Maple Hill Creamery 100% grass-fed products (ARV $20-$80 USD, depending on what product the winner chooses).

NATIONAL BANANA PUDDING COOK-OFF 2017

DEADLINE

August 7, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Enter your unique recipe for banana pudding. It should be sized to produce a 2-quart pudding. Recipes using a microwave oven will not be considered.
Ten finalists will compete at the Cook-Off in Centerville, TN on October 7, 2017. Finalists will be required to make two 2-quart puddings — one in a dish of their own choosing (to be judged) and one in a provided stoneware "Puddin' Pot" (for a fund-raising auction). Transportation is the responsibility of the finalists, as are all groceries and kitchen equipment (except a stove) needed by the finalists for recipe preparation at the festival.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older. Previous Legendary Lentil Cook-off contest winners (first, second and third place) are ineligible to enter for three full years (e.g. the winners of the 2017 Cook-off will not be eligible to enter until the call for recipes for the 2021 Cook-off).

PRIZES

First Prize: $2,000 (cash).
Second Prize: $500 (cash).
Third Prize: $100 (cash).
10 Finalist Prizes: Lodging for October 6, 2017 is provided.

What's your best summer potluck side dish? Enter your salads, slow cooker dishes, or grilled sides with a summer theme. There's no mention of the common Taste of Home 12-ingredient limit in this contest.
Taste of Home wants to hear the background or story of each recipe. You may also upload a photo.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of Canada (excluding QC), the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older. Once you have won the Grand Prize in a Taste of Home contest, you are not eligible to win a Grand Prize for one year; you may win lesser prizes.
